Central Asian Market for fashion products

Unlike many other rapidly developing countries, the former Soviet Union Republics of Central Asia have an extremely limited amount of domestic clothing manufacturers. However, with the fast growing of the economy fueled by massive exports of oil, a large affluent middle class has developed who demand high quality fashion apparel. The time to become involved in this market is now.

ReadyToWear will be held in Almaty.
Almaty is the richest and most international and cosmopolitan city in Central Asia. With a population of approximately 1.6 million it is a business and banking center of 65 million Central Asian's from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbajdzhan and Turkmenistan. Being the richest city in Central Asia, the city with a largest and most international exhibitions, and with a young fashion conscious public and strong business infrastructure, it is the ideal location for ReadyToWear Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan's Export Opportunity

Kazakhstan is located in Central Asia and is the 9th largest county in the world. It occupies more land than Western Europe, and is the business center of 56 million Central Asians. It is immensely rich in natural resources particularly oil & gas. Oil production in 2006 is estimated at 1.3 million barrels per day (bpd), and is forecast to be over 3 million bpd before 2020.map_ca.jpg

Due to its vast oil resources and liberal economic policies, since 2000, the Kazakhstan economy has been growing at more than 9% per year, which means that it has been growing faster than Russia and has been the fastest growing economy in the CIS for the last 3 years.

In addition, the local currency has been stable for more than five years, inflation is less than 7%, unemployment is about 8%, government tax revenues are increasing, gold and foreign exchange reserves are almost US$ 9 billion and the new National Fund established to handle the surplus oil tax revenues has a current balance in excess of US$3 billion. Foreign trade for 2006 is estimated to continue to grow at an annual rate of about 20% with imports projected to grow to US$13 billion/year and exports to US$ 22 billion/year.

Kazakhstan is a member of the five-country Eurasia Economic Community, along with Belarus, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, and together with Russia has applied for WTO membership which it hopes to achieve in 2006.
